The
Other Side
"Spending
an hour or so in the company of Alexander and Latana as they managed
to blend the wonder of opera and the mystery of puppets was one of
those rare periods in life that you become completely absorbed, loose
reality and surrender to the delights and fantasy of the performance.
Blending
such different elements of stage art was no easy task and the genius
of this self written and created show is that one never felt the
friction of the blend. They came together smoothly.
Children and
adults were captured alike.
The
power and depth of Latana's voice is exceptional, the variety of
puppets and puppeteering performed by Alexander was masterful. One
moved from the world of shadows to the reality of both frightening
and endearing characters with ease. How such inanimate objects could
suddenly gain such life and individual character was nothing short of
amazing. I loved one of them, was frightened by another and learned
from yet another, all of them captured me, all of them had life and
personality.
It is
extraordinary that the wide range of audience, from children still in
nappies, to teenagers right through the adult range to seniors, all
found their own reasons for delight.
The
show was masterful, we need more of them."

“What an incredible, magical experience! I was mesmerized throughout the performance and captivated by the story and the artistry of the puppets performed by Alexander Winfield. Being able to also hear the most wonderful singing by Latana Phoung was equally spellbinding! Great Show!”

I brought my 1yr old son to see the other side it was exciting for him as well as for us my son kept calling out to the bear in awe at what he was going to do next. It kept his attention the whole way through. The interaction between the two characters was thrilling to watch and I was so happy that it was a play that the whole family could watch.
